... Welcome to Iron River, Wisconsin. We are located in the extreme northwestern area of Wisconsin and border the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, along the Tri-County Corridor. We are in Bayfield county, the second largest county in Wisconsin and there is not a single traffic stoplight in the entire county! Jutting out into the second largest fresh water lake in the world, Bayfield County is a jewel of natural resources and wonderful scenery. The ATV trails here flow through Bayfield County and Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest lands.
Trails North ATV was formed in 1988 to help maintain the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and Bayfield County area trail systems. We are directly responsible for 85 miles of county and federal trails which are groomed monthly from May to November of each year. Beyond that, there are over 285 miles of ATV trails and routes within the county. You will be hard pressed to locate such remote beautiful scenery anywhere else in the state. Our efforts help to ensure the trails are properly signed and maintained for your enjoyment. When you see us out on the trail doing maintenance, be sure to give us a wave and remember to steer clear of the trail groomers.
The Trails North ATV'ers organization has a very simple philosophy. We do not expect that other users reduce or curtail their activities on public land to increase or otherwise enhance our ATV experiences and we would ask that other users subscribe to this same policy. We are a family organization and welcome social interactions among all our members. Riders of all ages are welcome to join us. We are a growing, vibrant active organization of over 100 members! We promote safe responsible ATV riding while at the same time we work to insure that our public lands will remain open for current and future generations.
Come and enjoy our slice of "Heaven",
but please don’t drive like hell through it.
