CONSTITUTION
Club Purpose:
To promote all terrain vehicle safety through safety educational
classes, collecting and dispersing trail maintenance funds, grant funds, expand
and maintain the area trail system in a manner which will make the trail system
safe and enjoyable for our communities and all riders.
Article 1
This club shall be known as
TRAILS NORTH ATV’ers.
Article 2
Active members shall be
riders of all-terrain vehicles, persons actively concerned with the trade, or
ATV enthusiasts. Honorary members shall
be any other persons as the club may decide by 2/3 vote of those present at any
regular meeting, so to honor. Only
active members shall be entitled to vote in club affairs.
Article 3
The officers of the club
shall be a President, Vice-President, Trail Captain, Treasurer and
Secretary. These officers shall
constitute the Executive Board.
Article 4
The duties of the President
shall be:
To preside at all meetings of the club;
To have general supervision of the affairs of the club;
To appoint any person or committee not otherwise ordered
by the club;
To represent the club on proper occasions and business
contacts;
To assist all other officers of the club in their
records, correspondence, and other duties;
To promote interest on the part of each member in club
activities;
To vote only when one vote is necessary to break a tie;
To correspond with the website provider.
Article 5
The duties of the Vice
President shall be to perform the duties of the President in his absence.
Article
6
The duties of the Treasure
shall be;
To collect dues from all of the members;
To collect and disburse monies as deemed necessary by the
club.
To keep accurate records and report to the club;
To see that all state and federal reports are prepared.
Article 7
The duties of the Secretary
shall be:
To keep a record of the meeting of the club in the
minutes book;
To
send out notices of meetings and minutes of
meeting;
To handle all club correspondence;
To perform such other duties as generally fall to that
office.
Article 8
The duties of the Trail
Captain shall be:
To oversee the condition of our trails;
To plan all club tours, runs, activities, etc;
To enforce all rules of group riding;
To service and maintain the club’s grooming equipment;
To apply for and oversee trail system grants;
To perform such other duties as generally fall to that
office.
Article 9
The duties of the Executive
Board shall be:
To act for the club in all matters ordered by the club;
To make final decisions on member expulsions;
To
properly investigate and present to the club all business or important
activity situations;
To have general control over all club affairs;
4 members shall comprise a quorum of the executive board.
Article 10
All elected offices shall be
filled at an annual election to be held in April of each year and all officers
shall hold office for 1 year or until their successors are elected and
qualified.
Article 11
The regular meetings of the
club shall be held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The President or Executive Board may call a
special meeting at any time by mailing a notice at least 7 days in advance.
Article 12
5 members in good standing
shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of club business.
Article 13
This Constitution may be
amended or added to at the annual meeting in April, providing the proposed
amendment is submitted in writing at a regular meeting. It shall then be mailed to members and voted
on at the next meeting. A 2/3 vote of
all active members in good standing, present, shall required to pass an
amendment.
Article 14
If the club would dissolve
for any reasons, any and all monies in the treasury will be turned over to the
charity or nonprofit organization of the Trails North ATV’ers club’s choice, to
use at their discretion.
